PROJECT FEES, DEPOSITS, CANCELLATIONS AND TAX RECEIPTS:

Dates listed are U.S. departure and return dates. Total costs include the “project fee” which covers room, board, ground transportation and other project expenses. (Does not include passport, visa or immunizations, domestic airfare to gateway city or international travel). Project fees cannot be pro-rated for partial participation. A $150 non-refundable/non-transferable application fee is required for all applications. If the project is fully booked, or if an application is not approved, the full amount of the application fee may be refunded. Participants who cancel after the group is ticketed will be responsible for the cost of the airline tickets (international tickets will be booked and billed by GHO); they will then be free to use or exchange them at the discretion of the vendor. Please note that discounted tickets are usually non-transferable and require extra fees for exchanges. IRS tax-deductible receipts will be issued for all donations of $25 or more toward CMDA project expenses. Revenue Canada receipts are not available through CMDA at this time.

AIRFARES:

Group airfares are booked from gateway cities, and these discounts require participation in the group travel arrangements. Everyone must travel to the foreign port of entry together to get the group fare. Persons desiring to deviate from the group itinerary may arrange to do so only with the pre-approval of the GHO Director. Special mission discount fares are booked when available. As a general rule, the earlier such fares are booked, the lower the price will be. All costs are quoted as of publication date and are subject to change without notice. Once registered for a project and ticketed for the flights, there will be no further changes in cost to project participants. All participants are responsible for their own airfare to the “gateway city” point of departure from their hometown (that is, all domestic airfare).

Conference: “The Cosmic Scope of Christ’s Redemption”

Dan Earl, PT, founder of CPTI and active member, informed us of an upcoming conference in Chattanooga, TN on March 2-4, 2012. The deadline for registrations has been graciously extended, but please respond ASAP if you are interested in attending.

The Paideia Centre for Public Theology, the Bryan Institute, and North Shore Fellowship are sponsoring “The Cosmic Scope of Christ’s Redemption” at the Read House in Chattanooga, to help all people in all vocations see how they fit into God’s kingdom work.

There are 4 keynote speakers, as well as break-out discussion groups that are oriented around vocations, including PT, so individuals can learn more about how Jesus is changing us and His world through our work.

Registration is $75 and covers most meals. The conference is Friday evening through Sunday morning. To get more info on the break-out groups, keynote speakers, and to register, please go to http://www.paideiacentre.capaideia-gathers

Position for Physical Therapist in the Dominican Republic

We, Students International, are currently looking for a physical therapist motivated to serve Christ in the Dominican Republic. We are located in the Dominican Republic (otherwise known as "forever springtime"). As a Physical Therapist working alongside StudentsInternational, our mission is to bring students and the poor together cross-culturally to encounter God, share the Good News, disciple and serve others through physical therapy. Our vision is to see students and the poor transformed into the likeness of Christ and discover their true calling while demonstrating how one can use their occupation to effectively minister to others, open their minds to a cross cultural ministry and most importantly challenge them spiritually to bring out their gifts and strengthen their faith in Christ. Currently we have one physical therapist (American Missionary) and two local staff (one who is studying physical therapy). God has continued to grow our patient population and we are seeking a motivated individual who is willing to work with us intreating patients, educating students (both here are from abroad) and most importantly showing the love of Christ to the local community. All of our American Staff raise 100% of their funds. This is a long term (min 2 years) commitment. We are willing and able to help raise support for this position.

If interested, please contact Dan Speciale at danspeciale@gmail.com.

Wheels for the World

Use your training to share the love of Jesus Christ with those affected by disability in an underdeveloped country. We are looking for physical and occupational therapists to join our Wheels for the World short-term mission teams to individually fit 200 wheelchairs during two different outreaches.
We will be ministering in Peru in November. Click here to read more...
